The Muskegon Museum of Art’s annual Art Talks Back poetry contest opens January 23. Entries will be accepted through March 26, 2020. The contest kicks off with a Writing Salon at the MMA on Thursday, January 23, 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Event is free and open to the public.

Michigan writers are invited to create original ekphrastic poems, based on one of ten selected works of art from the museum’s permanent collection, for the contest. Cash prizes, Museum memberships, and gift certificates will be awarded to the winning poets. The awards ceremony and poetry reading will be held April 30, 6:00 pm.
