94th Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition

The 94th Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition continues a rich legacy of showcasing the work of Michigan artists, from talented beginners to accomplished professionals. A competitive show, the Michigan Contemporary presents a look at the issues, themes, and materials inspiring today’s Michigan artists. Featured media include painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, jewelry, and installation. A visitor favorite, the exhibition engages, challenges, and inspires conversation.

CALL FOR ARTISTS: OPENS APRIL 4
Digital submission of entries begins April 4, with a deadline of July 21, 2023. The entry site will be available at www.callforentry.org starting April 4.

About the Juror:
Etsuko Ichikawa is a multi-media artist and filmmaker. Born and raised in Tokyo, she came to the U.S. in 1993 to attend the Pilchuck Glass School. She went on to work as a studio assistant for Dale Chihuly before becoming a full-time, independent artist in 2003. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Seattle Art Museum, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, The Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo, and the Eretz Museum in Tel Aviv. She has received grants from the Pollock Krasner Foundation, Artist Trust Arts Innovator Award, and Americans for the Arts Funding. Her work has been reviewed in Sculpture Magazine, NY Arts Magazine, and GLASS Quarterly. A resident of Seattle, WA for nearly 30 years she now resides in Hawaii.
