On Art | Suzanne Valadon: A Daughter of Montmartre

Learn about the remarkable woman artist, Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938). Born in Haute-Vienne, France, Valadon grew up in poverty with a single mother. From working in a circus, to modeling, teaching herself to draw and paint, she became the first woman admitted to the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
