Let’s Picnic: The Knop Collection of Herman Miller Posters

Take a step back in time and enjoy the nostalgia of the 1970s; an era with great music, big hair, bell bottoms, and Herman Miller Summer Picnics. Those company picnics were in need of promotional posters–enter Steve Frykholm. Steve was hired as Herman Miller’s first in-house graphic designer and one of his first assignments was the task of designing these posters.

Let’s Picnic: The Knop Collection of Herman Miller Posters is a closer look at Frykholm’s iconic posters that went from a simple work task to a large series that has since made design history. These 20 posters will be on display at the Muskegon Museum of Art in our Frank E. & Flora M. Johnson Family Print Gallery.
